【摘要】:Inclinometermonitoringprogramsoftenrunseveralyearsormore.Duringthistime,hundredsofsurveyscanbecollected.Eachnewsurveyisprocessedbycomparingittoabaselinesurvey.Overaperiodofyears,normalwearandtearcangraduallydegradetheprobex2019;sabilitytoproducenewsurveysthataredirectlycomparabletothebaselinesurvey.Thismaygounnoticedforsometime,becausethequalityofreadingsmaydegradeinverysmallincrements.Whenfunctiontestsareincorporatedintoaninclinometermonitoringprogram,thedegradationofreadingqualitycanbeavoided.Probesthatpassthetestscanbeusedwithconfidence.Probesthatfailthetestsshouldbereturnedtotheprobemanufacturerforservicing.Itshouldbenotedthatmanufacturerscalibrateinclinometerprobesusinghigh-precision,electronically-controlledequipmentintemperature-controlledenvironments.Ordinaryusersdonothaveaccesstosuchequipment,sothepass/failcriteriasuggestedforthesetestsaccommodatetypicalresultsproducedbylesspreciseequipmentinalesscontrolledenvironment.Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingitandthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thispracticedescribesthreefunctionteststhattogethercanbeusedtoverifythataverticalinclinometerprobeisworkingproperly.1.2Thispracticedoesnotaddresscalibrationroutines,electronicdiagnostics,orrepairoftheprobe,nordoesitaddressinspectionoftheprobesmechanicalparts.1.3Thispracticeisnotintendedtoreplacemanufacturersrecommendationsforservicingandcalibrationofinclinometerequipment,norisitintendedtoreplacemaintenanceandcalibrationschedulesestablishedbyusersaspartoftheirqualityprograms.1.4Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaprojectsmanyuniqueaspects.Theword"standard"inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
