【摘要】:Thisguidedescribesinstallationtechniquesandconsiderationsforopen-cutconstructionofburiedpipe.Althoughthisguidewasdevelopedforplasticpipe,theconceptsofprovidingtheappropriatesoilsupport,careinhandling,correctjoiningtechniques,propersoilcompactionmethods,andpreventionofinstallationdamagemayapplytoanypipe.Plasticpipereferstothermoplasticandfiberglasspipe.Thermoplasticpipereferstopipefabricatedfrompolyvinylchloride(PVC),polyethylene(PE),acrylonitrile-butadienestyrene(ABS),polybutylene(PB),orpolypropylene(PP).AlistofASTMspecificationsfortheseproductsisgivenin.Fiberglasspipereferstoaglass-fiber-reinforcedthermosetting-resinpipe.AlistofASTMspecificationsfortheseproductsisgivenin.Note1cannotbeconsideredinclusivebecausetheremaybeunlisted,recentlyadoptedASTMspecificationsfornewproductsthatmaybeinstalledusingthisguide.Note2OnlyafewoftheASTMspecificationslistedinincludetheassociatedfittings.Whilethisguideappliestotheinstallationofpipe,couplings,andfittings,noattemptwasmadetolistallthepossiblefittingspecificationsthatmaybeusedinconjunctionwiththepipespecifications.Consulteachspecificationormanufacturerforappropriatefittingstandards.Forsimplification,thetermpipewillbeusedinthisdocumenttomeanpipesections,fittings,andcouplings.ThisguidecontainsgeneralconstructioninformationapplicableforplasticpipeandsupplementstheinstallationstandardsforthevarioustypesofpipeasdescribedinPracticesD2321,D2774,D3839,F690,F1176,andGuideF645.Flexiblepipe,suchasthermoplasticandfiberglass,aretypicallydesignedtorelyonthestiffnessofthesoilsurroundingthepipeforsupport.Thecontractdocumentsshoulddescribetherequirementsofanappropriatesoilsupportsystem.Theconstructionpracticesdescribedinthisguidecanbeinstrumentalinattainingtherequiredsoilstiffness.Adiscussionoftheinteractionbetweenaburiedpipeandthesurroundingsoilandtheimportanceofattainingpropersoilsupportisin.Followingtheseguidelineswillbehelpfulinpreventinglocaldeformationsinthepipe.Thisguidedoesnotcoverunderwaterinstallation,pipethatneedstobesupportedonpiling,perforatedpipeusedfordrainage,orgaspipelines.Pipelinesthroughareasdescribedas"expansivesoils,""collapsingsoils,"landfillsorwater-loggedland(suchasswamps)shouldbeconstructedusingsite-specificinstallationproceduresandarenotdiscussedinthisguide.Thisguideisnotintendedtocoverallsituations.Specificpipecharacteristics,fluidtransported,localsiteconditions,environmentalconcerns,ormanufacturer'srecommendationsmayrequiredifferentguidelines.Theconstructionpracticespresentedinthisguidemaybeaffectedbytheinstallationrequirementsofowners,specifyingorganizations,orregulatoryagenciesforpipelinescrossingroadsandhighways,otherpipelinesorcables,orwaterwayssuchasstreams,drainagechannels,orfloodways.Culvertsorpipethatareusedaspassagesthroughwaterretainingembankments(forexample,earthdams)maybeconstructedusingtheprinciplesofthisguide,ifappropriateprovisionsaremadetopreventwatermovementalongtheoutsideofthepipe(usingimpervioussoils,cutoffcollars,headwalls,etc.).ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesaregivenforinformationonly.Note3ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandardcoveringtheprimarysubjectmatterofthisguide.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
