【摘要】:Tensilepropertiesincludemodulusofelasticity,yieldstress,elongationbeyondyieldpoint,tensilestrength,elongationatbreak,andenergyabsorption.Materialspossessingaloworderofductilitymaynotexhibitayieldpoint.Stress-straindataatseverallevelsoftemperature,humidity,time,orothervariablesmaybeneededtofurnishreasonablyaccurateindicationsofthebehaviorofthematerial.Tensiontestsmayprovidedataforresearchanddevelopment,engineeringdesign,qualitycontrol,acceptanceorrejectionunderspecifications,andforspecialpurposes(Note3).Thetestscannotbeconsideredsignificantforapplicationsdifferingwidelyfromtheload-timescaleofthestandardtest(Note4).Suchapplicationsrequiremoresuitabletests,suchasimpact,creep,andfatigue.Note38212;Itisrealizedthatthemethodofpreparationofamaterialisoneofthemanyvariablesthataffecttheresultsobtainedintestingamaterial.Hence,whencomparativetestsofmaterialspersearedesired,thegreatestcaremustbeexercisedtoensurethatallsamplesarepreparedinexactlythesameway;similarly,forrefereeorcomparativetestsofanygivenseriesofspecimens,caremustbetakentosecurethemaximumdegreeofuniformityindetailsofpreparation,treatment,andhandling.Note48212;Reinforcementsofplasticswithglassfiberofferwideopportunitiesfordesigningandproducingproductswithmarkedlydifferentresponsestoloadingevenwhenthebasicgeometryoftheproductissimilar.Forexample,atubularproductmaybedesignedtogivemaximumresistancetotorsionloading,butsuchaproductmightdevelopatwistorbowiftestedintensionorunderinternalpressureloading.Inthecaseofpipeforgeneralfielduse,internalpressure,aswellasloadsintension,compression,torsion,andflexuremustberesistedtosomedegree.Differentpipeproducershavechosen,bydesign,toofferproductshavingdifferentbalancesofresistancetosuchstressingconditions.Asaresult,itisimportantthatthepurchaserandthesellerbothhaveaclearunderstandingandagreementonthesignificanceofthistestmethodrelativetotheintendeduse.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecomparativelongitudinaltensilepropertiesoffiberglasspipewhentestedunderdefinedconditionsofpretreatment,temperature,andtestingmachinespeed.Bothglass-fiber-reinforcedthermosetting-resinpipe(RTRP)andglass-fiber-reinforcedpolymermortarpipe(RPMP)arefiberglasspipes.Note18212;Forthepurposesofthisstandard,polymerdoesnotincludenaturalpolymer.1.2Thistestmethodisgenerallylimitedtopipediameterof6in.(150mm)orsmaller.Largersizesmaybetestedifrequiredapparatusisavailable.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note28212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.
