【摘要】:Thisclassificationcoversthedeterminationofcommerciallyavailablenaturalmuscoviteblockmicaandisintendedtobeindependentofthebasiccolorofthemicaoritssource.Muscovitemicaischaracterizedbyhavinganopticalaxialanglebetween50and75?(seeAppendixX1);andhasaweightlosswhenheatedfor5minat600?Cnotexceeding0.2%(basedontheweightafterdryingat120?C).Thevisualsystemofclassifyingthequalityofnaturalmuscovitemicacoveredbythisspecificationisbaseduponrelativeamountsofvisibleforeigninclusionssuchasairbubbles,stains,andspotsincombinationwithrelativeamountsandtypesofwaviness,aswellasotherphysicalproperties.Inthissystem,aperfectlyclear,transparent,flatspecimenofmicaisthevisualstandardofperfection.Increasingamountsofvisualdefectslowerthevisualquality,andatotalof13levelsofvisualqualityarecoveredbythisstandard.Thismethodofclassification,generallyknownastheBengalIndiaSystem,ispurelyqualitativeandisentirelydependentonpersonalopinionandjudgment.Thestandardsforvisualqualityclassificationthatarecoveredinthisclassificationarethebestcommerciallyavailableconceptofthevariousqualitiesandtheirrelativepositions.Variationsinthemethodsofusingandapplyingthesestandardsfromthosehereindefinedmaybespecifiedbythepurchaser,ordefinedbyagreementbetweenthesupplierandthepurchaser.Standardsizeclassificationsaredefined,baseduponavailableusablerectangularareasandtheminimumdimensionsoftherectanglesthatthepieceswillyield.Precautionstobetakeninmakingthicknessmeasurementsarealsodescribed.Thisstandardcoversthefollowingtwodefiniteformsofcommercialpreparation:Form1-Full-trimmednaturalblockmica,0.007in.(0.178mm)minimumthickness.1.6.2Form2-Partially-trimmednaturalblockmica,0.007in.minimumthickness.Thebasiccolorofmica,suchaswhite,ruby,lightgreen,darkgreen,brownishgreen,andrum,aswellasothercolors,andthemethodofcontrollingthecolorandotherproblemsassociatedwiththebasiccolor,arenotapartofthisclassification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
